Key sectors and their use of packaging

London, UK - Jun 6, 2019 (PRN):

Packaging is a key part of virtually every single product in the world. That is why it will come as no surprise that the industry continues to grow but at the same time it is evolving. This is tailoring to the needs of the consumers as more and more attention is being put on moving away from single use packaging. You only have to look at packaging company PPS, who continue to push through returnable packaging, which is becoming more and more popular as the form of packaging. So what are some of the key sectors using packaging?

Food Industry
The food industry remains at the forefront when it comes to packaging but in many cases are now being delivered using returnable packaging. This includes the likes of Plastic pallets, Bakery trays and Pallet boxes. This is a great positive for the industry and shows they are becoming more aware of their environmental impact. This means removing the likes of cardboard boxes, which have long been the preferred choice. The benefits of doing this is firstly a reduction in carbon footprint but also economic rental costs. It of course also helps reduce packaging waste and can result in positive savings over a long period of time.

Retail
The retail sector is another that is heavily involved in packaging and has now moved to much more returnable packaging. This includes the likes of Roll cages, Tote boxes, Collapsible pallet boxes, Handling equipment and Containers. Each of these are a popular choice for returnable packaging. These are again a positive choice in the retail industry as they also reduce their carbon footprint. Other benefits include short and long term rental periods to meet seasonal demands. This will also result in a reduction in packaging waste.

Automotive Industry
The final key sector is the Automotive industry. There has been an increased trend towards these products pushing to being more environmentally friendly. This is a huge positive for the automotive industry, as it means the packaging is then much more easy to not only manage but control. The different types of packaging includes Plastic storage boxes, Pallet boxes and Collapsible pallet boxes. These again have many benefits such as the reduction to their carbon footprint and packaging waste. Also, a safer production area and an improved inventory control due to box traceability.
