Boise, Idaho - 22 March, 2002 (PRN):Micron Technology, Inc. (NYSE:MU), Wednesday announced it delivered its first industry samples of 400MHz DDR SDRAM memory devices to Silicon Integrated Systems Corporation (SiS) and the devices qualified on the SiS648 chipset. DDR400 devices deliver the faster speeds needed to keep pace with advanced microprocessors and graphics subsystems expected to be available late this year. DDR400 devices boost DDR333 speeds by 20 percent and provide system level bandwidth of 3.2GB per second (PC3200).

"We have reviewed Micron's DDR400 devices," said Shing Wong, senior VP of Silicon Integrated Systems Corp. "The parts met all evaluation criteria and we look forward to integrating Micron's DDR400 and our SiS648 chipset to reach even higher levels of performance. As always, we are working closely with Micron to enable our platforms. They provide tremendous design and enabling resources."

Micron is also conducting extensive system simulations on DDR400 devices to determine what modifications may need to be implemented at both the system and module level to ensure a smooth transition from DDR333 to DDR400. "Micron is focused on providing the leading-edge products our customer need," said Terry Lee, Executive Director of Advanced Technology and Strategic Marketing for Micron's Computing and Consumer Group. "Because of the increasingly complex nature of emerging memory solutions, we are also working collaboratively with customers and partners to develop new devices and the system-level technologies that take advantage of them."
