German Software PromoWare 3.0 tricks the Altavista search engine: New version of the search machine entry software with patented entry procedure.

Verl, Germany - 5 July 2002 (PRN): Making automatic entries with AltaVista has up till now only been possible with the PromoWare software originating from Germany. The new version PromoWare 3.0 of IOK Internet Services GmbH & Co. KG from Germany is now even available in different languages and also comes with a language editor, which can translate the software into any language which is read from left to right.

Logging on to AltaVista operates via a "submission code", under which the user can enter up to five URLs. But using neurone network technology on the powerful IOK servers, PromoWare 3.0 recognises the character patterns of the submission code provided by AltaVista consisting of eight partial graphics. Position and font are irrelevant here. The intelligent network works on three levels and so finds the correct letters and characters out of the 62 possible ones used to construct the AltaVista submission code. Once it has been recognised the code is passed to PromoWare 3.0 on request.

PromoWare 3.0 is now supplied in the five languages English, Spanish, German, French and Dutch. The entry procedure patented under German law (German patent No.199 58 861) for search engines even becomes multilingual with the new tool, a language editor and so can be used worldwide: all program texts are listed in tabular form for this. In the adjacent column, the appropriate concept or the suitable sentence is maintained in the desired language itself. Once the translation is finished, PromoWare 3.0 produces the new language version at the press of a button.

Further improvements of the software, which in Germany has already become a classic, are impressive: the structures of the search engine and project data base have been optimised, a new licensing and update procedure makes handling even easier. Another important innovation: PromoWare 3.0 has network functionality. Registered users receive the update free of charge, new customers pay just once 199.52 US-Dollars including VAT
