Russell, Kramer, and Witt Refrigeration, Divisions of Carrier Commercial Refrigeration – Making a Difference - Performance and Energy Efficiency: XDX Innovative Refrigeration
Brea, CA - Apr 2, 2004 (PRN):
The Heat Transfer Product Equipment Divisions (HTP Group) of Carrier Commercial Refrigeration (CCR) announce an agreement with Chicago area based XDX Innovative Refrigeration with CCR as the exclusive Original Equipment Manufacturer for the energy efficiency and performance enhancement package from XDX®.
The Russell Refrigeration Division continues to demonstrate its position as the industry leader, introducing energy efficient products incorporating the quiet ‘Flying Bird’ condenser technology and designs that reduce refrigerant charge such as in the environmentally friendly Sierra® System. Since 1914, KRAMER Refrigeration has been providing highest quality Commercial and Industrial Equipment to the Refrigeration Industry. The WITT Division has been providing a diverse refrigeration product line since 1948. The Heat Transfer Division of Carrier Commercial Refrigeration is the most established name throughout the Refrigeration Industry, and is the recognized leader in single system Hot Gas Defrost with Thermobank® from Kramer, High Sierra® from Russell, and now RAPIDEFROST® from XDX Innovative Refrigeration.
Carrier Commercial Refrigeration makes available the line of the revolutionary X-STREAM® and A.R.M.E.D. ® technologies from XDX® Innovative Refrigeration in the Carrier Commercial Refrigeration divisions of Beverage-Air, Russell Refrigeration, Cold Zone, Witt Refrigeration, Tyler Refrigeration, Kramer Refrigeration, Kelvinator, and International Cold Storage (ICS) branded refrigeration equipment lines. In an exclusive licensing agreement, Refrigeration Equipment from Food Service equipment to refrigerated and frozen display cases, and from evaporator coils or unit coolers and walk-in storage rooms, to compressorized equipment and equipment for specialty applications is now available with the patented XDX, and is available for nearly every refrigerant and in a wide range of capacities.
Carrier Commercial Refrigeration is a recognized industry leader in the food service, commercial and light industrial refrigeration industry segments, and provides equipment through various methods of distribution. “We are always looking for innovations, such as those from our technology partner XDX®, because we are a company that believes that our engineering advancements raise the mark for our competitors, giving us market advantage,” stated Michael Micak, Senior Product Manager for CCR, “Simply put, Carrier is raising the performance bar.”
The heat transfer process through use of X-STREAM® and A.R.M.E.D. ® technologies from XDX Innovative Refrigeration differs from the ordinary inefficient direct–expansion feed of a Freon-type refrigerant system in several ways. The process uses a special valve to allow a thin coating of refrigerant to line the entire inside of the evaporator tubing, resulting in rapid removal of heat from the product or conditioned space. Temperatures improve, the system runs less, and equipment performs better in this controlled manner of refrigerant feed.
“We are a company with a pro-customer focus” explained Dave Hartman, Director of Sales for the Heat Transfer Group of the internationally distributed CCR. “We want our customers to understand that we do more than just sell refrigeration products… Our focus is to provide equipment solutions for everyday issues.”
The process is applicable from food service and restaurant applications, to supermarket and convenient store equipment, to the ultra-low temperature requirements of blood plasma storage. Food storage, cold rooms, and industrial processing equipment all benefit form this technology. Carrier Commercial Refrigeration has interests in each of these markets and customers benefit from having the performance enhancing products factory installed. Independent Laboratories have tested and documented hard cost energy savings of 18% to 24% with up to 66% extension to shelf life of perishable product, in soft costs.
Phil Metz, National Accounts Manager for the Beverage-Air Division summarized the importance of the exclusive agreement with Technology Partner XDX®, “Food Service is an industry segment that is has been hard-hit during recent turns in the economy. Our focus is to help our customers return to profitability through advanced engineering in technologies like XDX® and through improving our customer’s soft costs. Inability to control soft costs often teaches hard lessons.”
