EDIFICE 94th Plenary: "Automated Enablement for SMEs" - Opportunities for Collaboration and Experience Sharing ![]()
Geneva - Jul 28, 2005 (PRN):
EDIFICE, the European B2B forum for the high tech industry, will hold its 94th Plenary Meeting on 7-8 September 2005 in Aix-en-Provence - FRANCE. The Plenary is hosted by ST and GXS and covers the topic " Automated Enablement for SMEs ".
"ST is fully committed to providing best-in-class service to its Trading Partners and B2B automation through Standards is one of the key enablers for an integrated Supply Chain. ST has been long standing member of EDIFICE and is fully supporting and promoting EDI and RosettaNet standards with its partners, towards a common goal." Message from David Kraemer, VP Value Chain Strategies, GXS "GXS have engaged with the Global Community to enable broad supply chain connectivity, including promoting trading standards that enable high value trading partner collaboration done cheaper, faster, and with greater numbers of connections. The next frontier in B2B is to engage small and medium enterprises in vast numbers to increase the business value of the internal processes, IT assets, and external connections already in operation. EDIFICE offers the opportunity for participating companies to exchange best practices, share mutual opportunities, and provide a forum for continued development so that we will realise the elimination of barriers to trade and benefit the end users of the products and services of EDIFICE membership. To that end, we welcome all participants, look forward to a stimulating and productive meeting, and have great pleasure in contributing to the success of you, your companies, and our global ecosystem." Message from Matthias Gehrken, Nokia, EDIFICE Chairman "EDIFICE is THE European B2B Forum for the electronics Industry, where benefits for its members can actually be measured. The speed with which promoted Industry standards are being adopted by all trading partners is proof of its success. On behalf of the membership, I encourage all companies who wish to speed up their B2B Standard implementations to participate in the Plenaries and to join the EDIFICE forum as a member. " With an experience of almost two decades, the EDIFICE focus on classic EDI Standards of the 1980s and 1990s has nowadays shifted towards XML technology and in particular RosettaNet Standards. This is also reflected in the agendas of the EDIFICE Plenary meetings and the roadmaps of the working groups. The combined expertise of EDIFICE and RosettaNet makes it possible for member companies to not only develop implementation guides and other valuable support documentation, but to actively influence emerging Standards. Interested companies are very much welcome to visit EDIFICE Plenary meetings as observers or become an EDIFICE member if they want to actively contribute and share knowledge in the area of e-Business Standards setting and implementation. About EDIFICE: EDIFICE represents the majority of the European electronics industry and is recognized as such by other organizations. It is a forum to be educated in B2B processes and technologies and also avail of the knowledge and experiences of other member companies. EDIFICE provides an opportunity to contribute to the direction and evolution of B2B Standards and processes that will benefit the industry.
